About this course

The renewable energy sector is experiencing rapid growth worldwide, creating numerous job opportunities. This program is designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge in areas such as energy policy making, financing, energy management, auditing, and infrastructure provisioning. India has made significant strides in solar power deployment, achieving the 5th global position by surpassing Italy. Solar power capacity has grown more than 11 times in the past 5 years, from 2.6GW in March 2014 to 30GW in July 2019 (Source: mnre.gov.in/solar). This unique program provides a comprehensive understanding of various renewable energy fields, including solar, wind energy, biogas, biomass, and more. Students are introduced to alternative forms of energy such as tidal energy, solar energy, wind energy, etc., along with insights on waste heat recovery. Additionally, the program covers emerging topics like Smart Grid technology. Aspiring candidates for this program should possess strong analytical skills and a keen interest in studying energy production techniques to implement renewable energy strategies and policies effectively. Candidates must be prepared to embrace the challenges of working in the dynamic and evolving field of renewable energy. The program is approved by AICTE.

Eligiblity

  • Bachelor's degree holder / Graduate in any discipline from a recognised University.
  • International / SAARC  Graduate from a recognised / accredited University / Institution.
  • Students who have appeared for final year of examination of their bachelor's degree program and are awaiting results can also apply, subject to successfully completing their bachelor's degree program / graduation within the time period specified by SCDL.

Eligiblity

  • The duration of the program is two years.
  • The registration period is valid for four academic years.
